Valence cheese of the cheese factory Mitina Dacha is the best cheese of Russia in 2021

On August 28, 2021 the anniversary large-scale contest of Russian cheeses "The Best cheese of Russia 2021" was held in Istra district as part of the festival " Cheese! Feast! Peace!, reports The DairyNews. The best cheese in Russia was Valence cheese from Kostroma region.

The jury members noted a significant increase in the participants of the competition - according to the majority of judges, the quality of products from regional producers has increased significantly over the past year and today is not inferior to imported cheeses in many points.

Hundreds of enterprises presented unique products from all regions of the Russian Federation at the contest "The Best cheese of Russia". According to the results of the selection stage, 100 jury members from the dairy industry identified eight samples that reached the final of the contest. Cheeses were evaluated in 12 competitive categories from fresh cheeses to extra-hard, washed-rind cheeses, blue and white cheeses and many others also participated.

The best in the categories were:

- Fresh cheeses. Bonjour cheese. Artisan cheeses by Alexey Andreev. Tula region
- Semi-hard cheeses. Russian cheese (aged up to 6 months). CJSC "State farm named after Lenin", Moscow region
- White mold cheeses. Bochonok cheese. Fromage de Louis. Voronezh region, Boguchar district - Aged cheeses. Gruyere cheese Patrice Norman (aged 7 months and more). Filimonovo Razdolye. Yaroslavl region
- Goat hard cheeses. Cheese Pjanaya Koza (Drunk goat). Olga Kosheleva's cheese factory. Republic of Chuvashia
- Goat soft cheeses. Valence cheese. TM "Mitina dacha", Kostroma region
- Sheep cheeses. Palais de breby cheese. Artisan cheeses of Alexey Andreev, Tula region
- Other cheeses. Montasio cheese. Ferma48 (Agricultural production cooperative Avangard), Lipetsk region
- Washed-rind cheeses. Reblochon cheese. Country Craft. Moscow region, Yegoryevsk

The winner of the Grand Prix of the contest and the holder of the title of the Best cheese of Russia was Valence cheese of the craft cheese factory "Mitina dacha"!

In 2021, the winner of the Grand Prix of the contest also received a special prize - a diploma "For contribution to the development of the cheese-making industry". The winner of this diploma will become the hero of the road dairy show "THE MASTER HAS COME TO US" and will have the opportunity to tell about himself to a wide audience in a popular video program for farmers and consumers throughout Russia.

In addition, the winner will participate in the international cheese contest, which will be held in September as part of the International Cheese Salon Mondial du Fromage in Tours (France).
