Ulyanovsk region is among the top three in terms of raw milk production
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, for 9 months of 2020, the gross yield in all categories of farms in the region increased by 5.3% compared to 2019 and amounted to 179 thousand tons. If in Ulyanovsk region, production growth reached 105.3%, in the Volga Federal District - 102.8%, and the average for the Russian Federation – 102.7%. The regional department predicts that by the end of 2020, the volume of raw milk produced will be 230 thousand tons. In 2021, after the implementation of three major investment projects in the region, the volume of milk production will increase to 51 thousand tons per year.
According to Stanislav Sankeyev, Chairman of Farmers' Association (AKKOR) in Ulyanovsk Region, it is planned that next year the farms of the region will acquire a total of about 1 thousand dairy and meat cattle - Holstein, red and white and black and white breeds. Among them, 24 beginner farmers will purchase 420 cows for their farms with regional grants, 11 small business representatives will purchase 307 animals under the Agrostartap program, and 3 large family farmers will purchase 260 cows at their own expense. It is expected that the productivity of dairy cows will be 6.5 -7.5 thousand liters per year.
