The price index for dairy products at the auction of Global Dairy Trade rose by 1.9%

The 262nd GDT (Global Dairy Trade) auction on June 16, 2020 ended up in growing again. The price index for dairy products rose by 1.9%, prices for milk powder and cheddar rose, and the price of butter continued to decline.

The weighted average price for dairy products at the 262nd GDT auction was 2,979 USD/kg. Taking into account the weakening of the ruble against the dollar in comparison with the previous auction, the average weighted price of dairy products in the Russian currency increased by 3.7% to 209.7 rubles/kg, which is 1.6% higher than in mid-June 2019.

A total of 21,410 tons of dairy products were sold at the auction, 558 tons lower than at previous auctions. Number of bidders - 166.

Prices for all key exchange-traded dairy products rose, only butter fell in price by 1%, while dehydrated milk fat rose by 0.8%. The price of whole milk powder increased by 2.2%, the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 3.1%. The price of lactose also increased by 0.4%. The price of cheddar increased by 1.4%.

The next Global Dairy Trade auction will be held on July 7, 2020.
