The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to soften the requirements for labeling dairy products
In particular, the draft resolution is supposed to postpone the deadline for the transfer of information to the information system of labeling on the withdrawal of dairy products from circulation from December 1, 2021 to January 20, 2022.
In addition, the document increases the registration period in the labeling system for participants in the circulation who work in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
It is also proposed to make adjustments to some definitions. Thus, the document proposes to change the interpretation of the concept of "importer", "contact production", as well as "participants in the production of dairy products".
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to provide a delay on the mandatory labeling of dairy products for agricultural cooperatives.
A pilot project on the labeling of dairy products has been held in Russia since July 15, 2019. Labeling involves applying the Data Matrix code to each unit of products and transmitting data on the movement of this unit along the commodity chain to the "Honest Mark" system. This will allow you to track the life cycle of each unit and monitor its quality at each stage.
To ensure a smooth transition, the process was divided into several stages. It is planned to be completed in 2023.
