The Ministry of economic development proposed to introduce a bar for price fluctuations for socially important products

‘Now there is a government decree No. 530, adopted back in 2008, which allows in emergency cases for up to 90 days to set regulated prices for socially important goods on the territory of one or more subjects. At the same time, the bar is set for price fluctuations of 30%. It is clear that when it was established at the legislative level in 2008, this was enough. Now, obviously, this is not enough. The bar is offered to be seriously reduced - for this we offer to come up with changing legislation and to give the government the right to set the bar and parallel with it, as soon as this right is available to set the bar in the amount of 10% of the variation for the month, excluding seasonal fluctuations,’ - said Reshetnikov.

Currently, the law on trade provides that in the event of a monthly increase in prices for socially important food products in one or more regions of the country by 30% or more, the government of the Russian Federation has the right to set maximum retail prices in these regions for up to 90 days. The Cabinet of Ministers sets the list of such products and the procedure for setting marginal prices.

Its resolution includes the following products in the list: beef, pork, lamb, chickens, fish, butter and sunflower oil, milk, eggs, sugar, salt, tea, flour, bread, rice, millet, buckwheat, vermicelli, potatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots, apples.

As for the procedure for limiting prices, the Ministry of Economic Development should prepare such proposals for the government on the basis of a weekly market analysis.
