The press service of LLC Valio notes that the increase in food prices is a factor that does not have seasonality, which we have to work on regularly, writes The DairyNews.

‘It is not a secret that the dairy industry is characterized by a high level of volatility, where pricing is influenced by dozens of factors: from the weather at a particular time of the year in a particular region to currency fluctuations. Often it is, of course, the combination of the factors. It is worth noting that pricing is an issue that we constantly work with, it does not have seasonality and is faced by manufacturers regularly,’ said in Valio.

The press service noted that the task of the company, as a producer and processor is to build the process and relations with suppliers in such a way as to reduce the possible impact of price increases on the cost of dairy products while maintaining the quality at a guaranteed high level.

Representatives of Valio added that this can be achieved by negotiating with partners and finding common solutions; as well as by reducing costs, for example, by revising processes within the framework of the lean production concept; and improving efficiency.

‘Of course, this is not always possible. Right now, there is an ambiguous situation on the market, which is likely to lead to an increase in prices in a number of dairy categories. For our part, we will continue to make efforts to ensure that this growth is minimal, as we perfectly understand the consumer, who becomes to some extent a hostage of circumstances,’ summed up in the press service of Valio.
