Tetra Pak: we are observing an increase in requests for packaging for long-term storage of products
- Taking into account the situation, manufacturers have started to revise their forecasts. According to the experience of other countries, the volume growth is approximately 20-30%. This is due not only to the fact that people buy food for the future, but also to a general change in consumer behavior – people stay at home more, and the level of food consumption at home is growing. UHT-milk becomes a convenient solution – you can buy it for the future and store it closed outside the refrigerator for up to six months, which means that you can reduce the number of trips to the store, - commented the press service of Tetra Pak.
It has to be noted that according to Nielsen, against the background of the spread of COVID-19, the dynamics of sales in the largest retail chains in Russia in the 11th week of the year (from March 9 to 15) accelerated by more than one and a half times compared to the week before. Sales volume during these seven days of the most active preparation for quarantine was the highest among all the weeks of 2020 (with the exception of the first, which included the days of new year's purchases).
