Stefan Duerr: The cost of raw milk production has increased significantly
According to him, if a year ago the cost of 1 ton of raw milk was $500, now processors pay $700. On the other hand, the purchasing power of the population ‘at least has not increased’.
‘Thanks to the government, which allocated quite a lot of money to the population - twice 10 thousand rubles per child, - said the expert. - Part of this money was spent on food, including milk. This helped us to maintain the demand for it. If such assistance continues in 2021, it would greatly help the dairy industry. We also count on government support in the form of subsidies to reduce the cost of raw milk.
Addressing the officials of the government of the Russian Federation, Duerr stressed that for their part, producers and processors of raw materials will make every effort to reduce their cost. The expert assigns an important role in this issue to the creation of regional unions. Now there are 13 of them, and there is hope that this year more regions will join.
