Rules for digital labeling of dairy products have been published

Government decree no. 2099 ‘On approval of the rules for labeling dairy products by means of identification and features of the implementation of the state information system for monitoring the turnover of goods subject to mandatory labeling by means of identification in relation to dairy products’ was published on the website of regulatory legal acts, reports The DairyNews.

As follows from the document, on January 20, voluntary labeling of milk for the entire industry will begin. Since June 1, 2021, there will be mandatory labeling for cheeses and ice cream, since September 1 - for products with a shelf life of more than 40 days, since December 1 - for products with a shelf life of less than 40 days.

At the same time, batch-based accounting starts on September 1, 2022, and item-based accounting (except for perishables) - on December 1, 2023.

Farmers who sell products on their own have received a reprieve and are required to label products since December 1, 2022.

Exceptions were given to products weighing less than 30 g, children's and specialized products.

The press service of the CADT reported to The DairyNews that according to the operator of the system "Honest mark", it is ready to introduce labeling of dairy products.

‘The phased introduction means that everyone has time to choose the best solutions, test the processes of shipment, delivery, acceptance, and so on. At the same time, the consumer will be able to check the legality and quality instantly - just by scanning the code with the "Honest mark" application. It will give not only data about the manufacturer, but also the expiration date, and a certificate. The introduction of labeling will allow the state to obtain reliable statistics and all the information necessary for the implementation of imperceptible control, accurately assess the market, consumption and production volumes, even consumer preferences. Labeling of dairy products is a continuation of the efforts of the moderator represented by the Ministry of agriculture to digitalize the industry, transfer interaction within the dairy industry to an electronic format. As of December 14, more than 8,300 participants in the turnover of dairy products were registered in the labeling system,’ the press service said.

Вопрос усилился с введением «сложносочиненных» терминов, именующих продукты с заменой молочного жира (вроде продукт молокосодержащий с заменителем молочного жира, произведенный по технологии сметана/сыра/молока).
