On July 2 in Kazan after modernization there was opened a dairy plant, belonging at present to “KOMOS GROUP". We will tell about one of the most modern dairy enterprises in the country.

Since July 2017, the Kazansky dairy plant, previously owned by the bankrupt agricultural holding VAMIN, is part of the milk processing sub-holding “Komos Group”, represented by the company “Milkom” on the rights of the sixth production site.

The holding itself works at its sites in Udmurtia, Perm region, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan. In addition to milk processing, “Komos Group” is engaged in the production of eggs, poultry, pork, animal feed and fish processing.

OJSC "Milkom" has 5 plants, including "Sarapul-Moloko", "Kezsky cheese factory", "Izhmoloko", "Permsky Khladokombinat "Sozvezdie" and "Glazov-Moloko". The sixth was the Kazansky dairy plant. The total volume of raw materials processed by the sub-holding in 2016 amounted to 377.9 thousand tons of milk. At the end of 2018, the enterprises of OJSC "Milkom" together processed more than 482.6 thousand tons of raw milk. The forecast indicator of milk processing by the end of 2019 is 529.2 thousand tons.

The main brand of "Kazansky dairy plant" is "Molochnaya Rechka". At this stage of reconstruction, in which it is planned to invest about 3.5 billion rubles by 2021, the volume of processing of the plant is 500 tons of milk per day.

During two years of implementation of the investment project for the modernization of “Kazansky dairy plant", from July 2017 to July 2019, there was fully renovated the milk receiving unit with a capacity of 1000 tons per day, hardware and starter units, production sites for ultra-pasteurized products, fermentation and packaging of products in a PET bottle; there were built warehouses for finished products and auxiliary materials; the fleet of milk trucks was modernized.

1.6 billion rubles were invested in the first stage of modernization; 1.1 billion rubles will be invested in the second stage and 0.8 billion rubles will be invested in the third stage.

The second stage provides the expansion of processing by the plant to 1000 tons per day. The third - the modernization of auxiliary facilities (boiler, compressor, electricity), as well as the construction of local treatment facilities.

In general, due to investments, KOMOS GROUP plans to process 3 thousand tons of milk per day by 2022, which is comparable to such TNCs as Danone and PepsiCo.

We will remind, in June this year during the St. Petersburg international economic forum there was signed a tripartite agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Udmurt Republic, JSC "Rosselkhozbank" and the agricultural holding "KOMOS GROUP". During the signing of the agreement it became known that the agricultural holding intends to become the national company №1 for milk processing in Russia.
