The corresponding agreement was signed today at the AGRORUS exhibition in St. Petersburg. General Director of the breeding plant Andrey Sanets and Chairman of the Committee on Agro-industrial and Fisheries Complex Oleg Malashchenko signed the necessary documents, The DairyNews reports.

The agreement will allow Leningrad region to increase the volume of milk production by 5.2 thousand tons due to the construction of a dairy cattle breeding complex for 432 cattle places in Luga district. The project cost is 400 million rubles.

The construction of the new complex will increase the provision of population of Leningrad region with dairy products. Andrey Sanits expressed gratitude to the regional government for the support of agricultural producers of Leningrad region:

‘Thanks to this agreement, Rapti breeding plant, when it reaches its full planned capacity, plans to increase the milking herd to 1,500 animals and milk yield to 12 tons.

It is reported that modern technical equipment will reduce the number of personnel to two people — this will be enough to milk the entire livestock. Nevertheless, Oleg Malashchenko assures, it is not worth worrying about a decrease in the number of jobs:

- Every year, agricultural enterprises only increase the number of jobs. I am sure that an additional five thousand tons of milk, which will be purchased by processors, will allow residents of the region to get a high-quality product.
