Olga Abramova: 86-88% of dairy products consumed in Udmurtia are locally produced
According to Olga Abramova, the authorities of the republic are trying to support the production of high-quality milk, since the population of the region remains its main consumer:
- The Udmurt Republic differs from many regions because for many years we have formed a taste consumer habit for milk produced on the territory of the republic. About 86-88% of milk and dairy products consumed in Udmurtia are locally produced products. This is a very important indicator for us, we strive to localize our production and consumption markets as much as possible in order, firstly, to provide the highest quality products, and, secondly, these are sales opportunities for our enterprises.
Even in 2020, there was no negative dynamics in consumption, on the contrary, there is a gradual increase in indicators:
- We cannot say that our consumption has decreased. According to statistics for 2020, over the past three years the consumption of dairy products per capita has been growing by a liter per year. Now it is 248 liters per person per year in the Udmurt Republic.
One of the priority areas of work is the provision of social institutions:
- Now, we are working to focus the entire social nutrition system, which in our region amounts to about 6-6. 5 billion rubles, on our domestic product. So that milk, dairy products, meat — everything that is connected with nutrition in social institutions and produced on the territory of our region, is supplied from local producers. We believe that we have good opportunities here. In addition, this, of course, is support for kids. For schools and kindergartens in remote villages, it is very important that there is a manufacturer on spot who supplies the manufactured products to social institutions.
