About 1 billion rubles will be invested in the creation of export-oriented production of cottage cheese and whey powder in Knyaginino district of Nizhny Novgorod region. the JSC "Knyagininskoe moloko" plans to implement the investment project. This was announced by Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Sanosyan.

According to Andrey Sanosyan, this is the first such enterprise in Nizhny Novgorod region and one of the few in the country. In Russia, whey powder is produced by only a few companies.

"Whey is used for food production, in the confectionery industry", said the Deputy Governor. — These products are in demand abroad, in particular, one of the potential markets may be China. In Nizhny Novgorod region, whey will be produced using modern technologies from high-quality local raw materials, which will make our products competitive on the world market. The region is interested in increasing the export of agricultural products, because this is additional income for our agricultural enterprises".

Andrey Sanosyan added that in the region, the share of pedigree cattle in the total milking herd is higher than the national average. "Breeding allows us to ensure a fairly high quality of raw milk. Now in Nizhny Novgorod region, more than 90% of milk produced in agricultural organizations belongs to superior grade", said the Deputy Governor.

"This year we are reequipping the regional veterinary laboratory, which will make the control over the quality of milk in the region even more strict and effective", said Andrey Sanosyan. — A little less than 60 million rubles were allocated for new equipment. As a result, the laboratory will be able to detect not only the presence of pathogens in raw milk, but also determine their content, which is important for the diagnosis of livestock".

As part of the investment project, it is planned to create about 30 new jobs. JSC "Knyagininskoe moloko" expects to open production in 2021. Construction will begin in 2020. The production capacity will allow processing 100 tons of raw milk per day.

"Despite the economic difficulties, we will continue to implement new investment projects in food industry", said Andrey Sanosyan. — Today this is especially important, because the expansion of production will create additional jobs in the districts. We discussed plans for this year with the heads of enterprises: industrialists are ready to continue the planned investment projects, if the regional government provides the necessary support — financial or organizational".

"In total, the food industry enterprises plan to invest about 2 billion rubles in development in 2020", added the Deputy Governor.

Among the major investment projects that will be implemented this year are the construction of new production facilities at the cheese and butter plant “Pochinkovsky”, at the poultry farm “Lindovskoye”, and at the enterprise “Moloko” in Shakhunya.

As part of a working visit to Knyaginino district, Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Sanosyan also held a meeting on the development of the investment potential of the district.

"In the Nizhny Novgorod region, there has been established a Development Corporation that accompanies all key investment projects, including assisting in the selection of a site for a new enterprise", said the Deputy Governor. — In my opinion, this is not enough. It is necessary not only to help the investor implement the project, but also to work more actively to attract investment. We need to create our own offers for potential investors, taking into account the capabilities of each particular district of Nizhny Novgorod region. Now it is very important to increase the flow of investment to the region: this largely depends on how quickly we can restore the economy after the pandemic".
