Milk processing in Kursk region amounted to 545 thousand tons per year
According to the representative of the government, the share of the dairy industry in the food and processing industry is 18%. Milk processing capacity is 545 thousand tons per year. The number of employees of milk processing enterprises in Kursk region remains at the same level – about 1 thousand 900 people.
‘The leading enterprises of the industry are JSC Sudzhansky Butter Factory, LLC Kurskoe moloko, LLC NM Ingredients, LLC Promkonservy, LLC Kursk Dairy Plant, LLC Cheese Valley and LLC Molochny dom. Taking into account the demand of customers, enterprises are constantly working on the range of products, expanding it,’ said the chairman of the regional Committee of the Agro-industrial Complex.
He also said that in the last few years, new lines for the production of cheese and cottage cheese, packaging of dairy products were put into operation at the leading regional enterprises of the dairy processing industry, which allowed to increase the production of sour cream, cottage cheese and milk.
‘Dairy products are recommended for children and dietary nutrition, and are delivered to children and medical institutions in the region. The enterprises of our dairy processing industry have the opportunity to provide dairy products not only to the residents of the region, but also send their products to neighboring regions,’ said Ivan Muzalev.
He added that currently the enterprises of the dairy processing industry of Kursk region are preparing for the introduction of mandatory labeling of dairy products by means of identification.
