Andrey Rysyev, commercial director of the machine-building plant AVIS, told The DairyNews that labeling dairy products will lead to the closure of almost every second company.

Andrey Rysyev, commercial director of the machine-building plant AVIS, told The DairyNews that the decision of the government to implement the decree on mandatory labeling of dairy products will lead to the closure of almost every second company, and strict monitoring of the process of the work of enterprises will result in numerous fines.

‘Labeling of dairy products does not give the consumer any additional protection (to existing measures) from low-quality products, while the manufacturer has to face a lot of difficulties, and often dead-end technical situations. If the government still decides to implement the law on product labeling, then in fact it will be possible to close every second company. If strict monitoring of the work of enterprises begins, it will be possible to fine each company due to the absence of any components of the labeling process,’ said the commercial director of AVIS. -Labeling of dairy products so far looks like an unfounded and ill-considered decision. Some enterprises produce too small batches of goods per day, and it will be necessary to invest a large amount of money in the implementation of labeling. Who will be responsible for all these costs? The buyer? With a fee of 150 rubles for a bottle of milk? In addition, almost the entire dairy group is also the goods of daily consumption, so the cost should be acceptable. On the one hand, the state seeks to increase the consumption of dairy products in the pursuit of the health of the nation, and on the other hand, what? Labeling!’.

Andrey Rysyev believes that the investments that are made in the labeling of dairy products do not imply the achievement of any strategically serious goals. Moreover, from the point of view of farming, the introduction of labeling will put many enterprises outside the law.

‘The labeling of dairy products and the tracking system Mercury largely duplicate each other. Accordingly, I believe that Mercury can be modified to a more perfect state, allowing this system to solve additional tasks. However, to introduce another duplicate system is a bit too much from the point of view of quality control. Moreover, most enterprises have already learned how to work with Mercury, and the severity of its problem is gone,’ added Andrey Rysyev.

Earlier, The DairyNews reported that Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov sent a letter to the Chairman of the government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, in which he asked to exclude dairy products from the list of digital labeling.
