It is necessary that the labeling does not affect the price of dairy products - Dmitry Patrushev
In her opinion, the allocation of preferential loans for the labeling process will not be enough, since the price of dairy products will still rise.
In response, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev said the following:
‘The decision on labeling has been made, and we will now live with the labeling of dairy products. At the same time, of course, we need to support our own production of both milk and dairy products. Taking into account the fact that producers of already processed dairy products will now be in somewhat straitened conditions due to the need to purchase equipment, we have provided a number of measures,’ the minister said.
He noted that at present, the possibility of providing capex for the purchase of equipment to those who participate in the labeling process is being worked out. Dmitry Patrushev noted that the government is also developing mechanisms under which milk processing enterprises will be able to obtain leases for the purchase of equipment.
‘In general, we are currently working with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and are developing solutions at the government site that will make labeling of dairy products less expensive for producers. And most importantly, we are trying to make sure that these decisions do not affect the price of dairy products,’ the expert concluded.
