Import of goods to Russia from foreign countries for 11 months increased by 6.1% to $193 billion

Import of goods to Russia from foreign countries increased by 6.1% in January - November 2018 compared to the same period in 2017 and amounted to $192.9 billion. Such statistics was brought by the Federal customs service (FCS) of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, in November this year, imports decreased by 2.4% to the level of October and in value terms amounted to $18.1 billion, said in the service.

The import of food products and raw materials for their production increased by 3.9% compared to the previous month and amounted to 2.08 billion dollars, engineering products - by 0.7%, to 9.44 billion dollars, and the import of textiles and shoes decreased by 14.7%, to 858.2 million dollars, chemical products - by 6.5%, to 3.25 billion dollars.

In the group of food products and raw materials for their production, the import of vegetables increased 2.5 times, cereals – by 2 times, fruits and nuts - by 12.3%, tobacco - by 8.4%, fish - by 7.3%, alcoholic and non - alcoholic beverages - by 7%, vegetable oil - by 6.1%. At the same time, the import of meat and by - products decreased by 16.3%, sugar - by 11%, dairy products -by 4.5%.

The import of engineering products purchases of electrical equipment increased by 7.4%, optical instruments and devices - by 5.8%, mechanical equipment - by 3.9% and land transport - by 0.5%. At the same time, the supply of ships and floating equipment decreased by 3.5 times, aircrafts - by 50.2%, railway locomotives - by 7%.

Among textiles and footwear, purchases of textile materials decreased by 22.8%, textile clothing - by 22.4%, footwear - by 20.6%, chemical fibers - by 14.7%, knitted clothing - by 9.9%, knitted fabrics - by 8.6%, chemical yarns - by 7.3%, cotton - by 4.7%. At the same time, the import of finished textiles increased by 1.3%.

The import of chemical products decreased due to a decrease in purchases of perfumery and cosmetic products by 12.8%, polymers and rubber - by 8.7%, organic and inorganic chemicals - by 6.7%, soap and synthetic detergents - by 3.7%. At the same time, purchases of pharmaceutical products increased by 0.7%.
