"Galaktika" expands production in Leningrad region
At the end of April at the “Galaktika” dairy plant in Gatchina, a new line for the production and packaging of thick dairy products will be opened. The project was implemented within the framework of long-term partnership between Valio and one of the largest processors of the North-West.
The opening ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Government of Leningrad region, including Deputy Chairman of the government of Leningrad region for agriculture and fisheries Malashchenko Oleg Mikhailovich, representatives of the administration of Gatchina district, the management of companies Valio, LLC "Galaktika", as well as representatives of the manufacturer of industrial equipment "Tauras Phoenix".
The new line will be able to produce more than 2 tons of finished products per hour. The companies plan to launch the production of new products that meet the latest trends in proper nutrition, in new modern packaging formats.
The range under own brands of "Galaktika" is planned to be expanded with yogurts with high content of protein, flavoring combinations, which are not yet on the market, desserts with large pieces of fruit and berries, multi-layered products, healthy breakfasts based on milk yogurt with granola. Thanks to the high-tech equipment and the highest quality requirements at the “Galaktika” plant, it will be possible to launch the production of yogurts meant for kindergartens and schools.
The range of Valio will also be replenished with new yogurts and sour cream. Production of products under the Valeo brand on production capacities of "Galaktika" began ten years ago with start of this category of dairy products. To date, it produces selected milk Valio, as well as milk Valio of 0%, 1,5%, 2,5%, 3,2% fat content, cream 10%, drinking yogurts Valio Clean Label, sour cream Valio 23%. In 2013, production of the first in Russia yoghurts without "E" additives under the brand Valio Clean Label began on this site. The products manufactured by the order of the company at the “Galaktika” plant meet the strictest requirements for the quality of products imposed by Valio. As raw material we use is only the best milk coming from farms of Russia, certified by specialists of the Finnish company.
- Expansion of production of fermented dairy products is a natural stage of cooperation between our company and this production site, - said the General Director of "Valio" Kari Finska. - After all, Valio's cooperation with the “Galactika” plant began in 2007, when the specialists of the Finnish company were involved as experts for the implementation of the quality system at the plant. Since then and to this day we are proud of our cooperation and products manufactured at this plant.
"Our goal is to develop deep processing of milk, – said Dmitry Pinchukov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GC “Galactika”. - The new line will allow us to produce more complex, interesting and modern products.
The commissioning of the new production line will allow to increase the total production of thick desserts and yogurts at the plant 2.5 times in 2019. Investments in equipment amounted to 70 million rubles. The opening of the new line will create 20 additional jobs.
