Electronic veterinary certification is a right step in relation to raw milk

Milk processors have expressed their opinion about the implementation process of EVC in the dairy industry. "Electronic veterinary certification is a logical and correct step in relation to raw milk", - said in comments of The DairyNews Vera Samoilova, Deputy Director on quality of the company Molvest (among the three largest dairy companies of the Russian Federation).
"The adopted order of the Ministry of agriculture No. 281 provides multiple veterinary certification with registration of veterinary accompanying documents: in the manufacture of product batch, then during transportation and further transfer of ownership of the goods. For dairy producers, this will seriously complicate the logistics and selling of dairy products", - said Vera Samoilova.

According to the expert, in international practice, as in the countries of the Customs Union, there are no examples of veterinary certification for ready dairy products. Also, the order provides the opportunity to study these products.

"But while Europe has all the necessary tools, techniques, modern testing facilities, trained and competent veterinary workers, we have all this in deficiency. We have to be ready for that. We are ready to provide all the necessary documents, an electronic database to work in this direction in cooperation with the Rosselkhoznadzor. We aim together to achieve a positive result", - stressed the Director on quality of the company "Molvest".

As it was already mentioned by The DairyNews, according to representatives of the group of companies Danone in Russia, the company's plant in Kemerovo, more than half of raw milk is already supplied with electronic veterinary accompanying documents.

"We recognize the problems with receipt: if the factory system does not meet the one of farmers, and you receive more milk, then the Agency will question, where the extra volume came from. The system will recognize the extra 100 kg of raw milk as unsafe. It is therefore necessary at each stage to record the amount of milk. Questions may arise with the introduction of traceability, as well as with sales of whey on the side", - noted the Director on technical regulation of "Danone Russia" Julia Eliseeva.

"The specificity of the production of dairy products is that one batch of finished product, such as ryazhenka (fermented baked milk), for example, may include several batches of raw milk and during the day we produce more than 60 batches of finished dairy products, the range of the company's over 200 SKUs, the selling of dairy products from the warehouse is accompanied by the issuance of more than 1000 invoices. Thus, economically it (the introduction of EVC on the finished dairy products - ed.) means millions," suggested Vera Samoilova.
