Danone intends to protect its business reputation in connection with the claims of the Rosselkhoznadzor

Earlier it became known that the Rosselkhoznadzor annouced the discovery of antibiotics in products of Volgogradskiy dairy plant of Danone. The company said that quality and monitoring are priorities for the production of Danone.

In addition, the press service of the company has published a comment in which it was told of the violations due to which the audit was conducted by the Rosselkhoznadzor. We publish the letter of the company without changes:

On 21.12.2017 late in the evening, after information about the violations of the company Danone has already appeared in the media, we received an email from the Veterinary Committee of Volgograd region, which contained the Study protocol of milk and request for information on measures adopted by the company to determine the source of medicines in dairy products.

Protocol analysis showed that this study was carried out with gross violations. The study of products was conducted two weeks after the end of its shelf life. Samples were taken on 21 November 2017, the study was conducted on 14 December, and the public and the manufacturer were informed about it on 21 December. Meanwhile, in accordance with the laws such studies shall be conducted not later than 24 hours after sampling. As a consequence, we cannot accept the result provided by the Veterinary Committee of Volgograd region to be reliable.

It should also be noted that the error of the method that was used to conduct the study amounts to more than 69%. Pasteurized milk is a sensitive product, its properties change irreversibly during storage taking into account temperature regimes.

We believe in the quality and safety of our products. Our company is a responsible manufacturer, working in strict accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the Customs Union. All milk received at our facilities, comes to us with the relevant veterinary documents and passes 100% of total production control in a specially equipped and accredited laboratory. No substances containing tetracycline are used at the factories of Group of companies Danone in Russia.

We believe such negligent attitude to conducting the studies as well as actions of the Rosselkhoznadzor on announcing information harmful to the reputation of the company is unacceptable for the Federal authority of Executive power. The company intends to apply to all possible legal remedies for its reputation.
