How do retail trends, e-commerce, packaging and technologies impact the Brazilian and the global dairy sector today? These were some of the topics discussed in the 4th edition of Dairy Vision 2018, an event held on 28 and 29/11, at Dom Pedro Expo, in Campinas / SP.

With a record audience, 350 leaders from the main dairy industries in Brazil and abroad discussed the main trends that will dictate the market going forward.

Participants at the event, held by AgriPoint in partnership with Zenith Global, chose the word 'disruption' to summarize the major changes in the food and beverage sector in the Latin American continent and the world.

Consumers are seeking to understand the products they consume and their respective stories. Also, knowing the ingredients and benefits of industrialized foods has never had as much weight in choices as now. And even with all these challenges, Dairy Vision has shown that the industry has been gaining innovative professionals and companies, who have taken advantage of this 'wave' and made the difficulty an opportunity, either through startups or with specific products aimed at niche markets.

Thinking about all the segments that are part of the dairy category and bringing inspiring success stories, Dairy Vision consolidates itself year after year as one of the best forums in the world in the category. Its programming, which mixes national and international presentations, is one of the highlights, in addition to the high level debates resulting from the lectures. Among the international highlights were Jay Waldvogel, vice president of DFA and Phillip Mirvis, a specialist in corporate social innovation who helped create the strategy on this topic for Ben & Jerry's. The event had also a very interesting startup panel, including Ghee me more, PackID, Forseek and Nuu.

Dairy Vision had 25 lectures and debates in which innovation, industry 4.0, market trends, investments and consumption were the guiding line of the event, which was sponsored by companies Ecolean, Dupont, Duas Rodas, RMB Pack, Olam, Polyone, SealedAir, CHR Hansen, BNDES, Clariant, APEX, Granotec / Granolab, Paques, Noluma, Novozymes, Ashland, Brenntag and Amcor. Institutional support of ABIQ, ABLV, Fepale, Ital, Nielsen, Rabobank, Sindileite, Viva Lácteos and Federal Government and media support of Feed & Food Magazine, Dairy Industry Magazine, Dairy Magazine and The Dairy News website.

"This year's event was a milestone, as it had a growth of almost 40% in the number of participants, reaching the proposed goal of being a guide for the future of the sector, without leaving aside the needs of the present," says Marcelo Pereira de Carvalho, CEO of AgriPoint.
