Dairy Index DIA increased by 0.2% to 28.87 rubles (about 0.32 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA, the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week increased by 0.23% to 26.25 rubles (about 0.29 euros)/kg, which is 3.9% higher than the price in late December in 2019. Prices for raw milk increased in Belgorod, Kostroma and Stavropol regions. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Vologda and Kaluga regions.
It is worth reminding that to get access to information about the prices for raw milk in all regions of Russia, users need to be registered on the page of the application Index DIA and enter current data on the price of raw milk on a weekly basis.
The import price index increased by 0.17% to 35.07 rubles (about 0.39 euros)/kg, compared to the level of late December 2019 the index is higher by 9.65%. At the auction of BUCE the price of skimmed milk powder decreased by 0.5%. At the auction of Trigona Dairy Trade the price of butter decreased while the prices of other exchange-traded products remained at the level of last week. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble compared to the previous auctions, increased by 0.8% to 301.5 rubles (about 3.35 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 2.3% to 292.3 rubles (about 3.24 euros)/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder increased to 200.96 rubles (about 2.23 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased 73.1 rubles (about 0.81 euros)/kg.
The import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter decreased by 0.03% to 36.82 rubles (about 0.41 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 0.36% to 33.77 rubles (about 0.37 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 27.48 rubles (about 0.30 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
