Dairy Index DIA has decreased to 26.47 rubles (about 0.38 euros)/kg
According to the application Index DIA the weighted average price of milk in Russia last week remained at the level of 25.04 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg, which is 9.8% higher than the price in late November in 2018. Prices for raw milk increased in the Republic of Tatarstan, Samara and Smolensk regions. The decline in prices for raw milk was observed in Omsk, Kurgan and Nizhniy Novgorod regions.

The import price index decreased by 0.6% compared to last week to 30.66 rubles (about 0.44 euros)/kg, compared to late November 2018, the growth of the index was 6.5%. The decline in the index was due to the decline in the price of butter. At the auction of BUCE, the price of butter fell by 4.5% to 360 rubles (about 5.12 euros)/kg. Last week at the Dutch stock exchange Trigona Dairy Trade, prices for butter, skim milk powder and whey powder increased; the price of cheddar remained at the level of previous trading. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble increased by 1.4% to 261.6 rubles (about 3.72 euros)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 0.03% to 222.7 rubles (about 3.17 euros)/kg, the price of skim milk powder increased by 2% to 183.8 rubles (about 2.61 euros)/kg. The price of whey powder increased to by 2.1% to 52.3 rubles (about 0.74 euros)/kg.
At the 248th GDT trading on November 19, 2019, the dairy price index rose by 1.7%. The prices of all dairy products increased, only milk fat fell in price.
The import price of a pair of skim milk powder + butter decreased by 0.99% to 36.05 rubles (about 0.51 euros)/ kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 0.08% to 25.38 rubles (about 0.36 euros)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 22.95 rubles (about 0.33 euros)/kg.

Dairy Index DIA
Dairy Index DIA is calculated based on two key indicators, the weighted average price of milk in the Russian regions and the Index of import price. To calculate the weighted average price, the Center developed and launched a crowdsourcing application Index DIA, which allows accumulating current data on the prices of raw milk in the Russian regions from direct market participants, producers and processors of milk. The Index of import price is determined based on the prices of key exchange dairy products – skim milk powder, whole milk powder, butter, cheese and whey powder. The prices of imported dairy products are based on the prices of dairy products of the Belarusian universal commodity exchange (BUCE) and the prices at the sites of Trigona Dairy Trade and GlobalDairyTrade.
