The Kezsky cheese factory, which is part of the Komos Group holding, has started commissioning and trial production on a new line, reported in the press service of the Group of Companies to The DairyNews.

On August 25, the first trial production of cheese on the new line of the Czech company VPS for the production of hard and semi-hard cheeses was launched at the site. The capacity of the line is up to 40 tons of cheese per day. The production of trial non-commercial batches of products during commissioning mode is carried out to test the technology and stabilize all technological parameters.

The new line was put into operation as part of a large-scale reconstruction of the cheese production, which has been going on at the site since 2018 with the aim of doubling the volume of cheese production. In July 2021, a new warehouse for finished products was launched, which allows storing up to 2,200 tons of finished products at a time. The first stage of the reconstruction of treatment facilities has also been completed, which allowed to improve the quality of wastewater treatment. The end of the second stage, which aims to increase the volume of wastewater treatment from 900 to 1200 tons per day, is planned in November 2021. In addition, a warehouse for cheese maturation will be built at the Kezsky cheese factory by the end of the year.

We remind that the reconstruction of the Kezsky cheese factory is carried out within the framework of the investment project "MILCOM – 2020" in two directions: the modernization of the existing cheese production and the introduction of modern technologies for wastewater treatment. Work on all sites is carried out as the technological equipment is taken out of operation and the premises are transferred to contractors. After the reconstruction, the enterprise will receive 600-700 tons of raw milk for processing every day, and the design capacity of the plant will be 18 thousand tons of semi-hard cheeses per year. This volume will allow the agricultural holding Komos Group to enter the top ten leaders in cheese production in Russia.
