Belarus plans to receive more than 7.2 million tons of milk by the end of the year
"Milk production is one of the most efficient branches of animal husbandry. The profitability of its sale was 18.7% last year, for the first half of this year - 19.3%. Volumes are also growing: for eight months, it made 100.1% compared to last year when the milk yield per cow was 3403 kg. The farms also worked with an increase in September. The achieved level of production allows to fulfill the task of this year to get over 7270 thousand tons of milk, or 103,3% to the previous year with milk yield per cow at least 5180 kg", - said Igor Brylo.
More than half of the dairy herd in Belarus is kept on 1671 dairy farms. "All of them use modern technologies; they operate milking parlors, robotic installations. They receive over 65% of milk. The average milk yield per cow in January-June was 232 kg more than in the Republic", said the Deputy Minister.
Updating of production capacities, improvement of technological discipline also allowed to improve qualitative characteristics. "If in 2010, 13.3% of “extra” grade milk was sold, in 2015 - 38%, last year - 47.6%, and in the first half of this year - 50.7%. In industrial dairy complexes, this figure exceeded 65%. The money invested in them gives a real return for more than one year”, - said Igor Brylo.
