Alexey Martynenko: pricing is secondary - the main thing is to counteract the spread of coronavirus
"The main thing today is to counteract the spread of the coronavirus. Price and pricing is a secondary matter, the possibility of producing a product is on the agenda", said Alexey Martynenko, General Director of “Umalat”, in a comment to The DairyNews.
The head of the company that produces fresh cheeses also stressed that the plant does not raise prices.
- I do not know, how the situation with the pandemic will affect production, for example, if we do not have Italian specialists come to us, theoretically the line can stop. Time will show; so far we have worked without any problems. There is no plan as such, and there can't be. The situation with the pandemic is the first in 102 years. No one has any experience or understanding of what will happen next – no one has ever encountered this before. One thing is clear – the global economy will lie in ruins, and the crisis will be comparable to the Great Depression in the United States-obviously. The financial crisis cannot be avoided, and the role of the state is very important here, especially now. The real situation is unknown to us, - summed up Alexey Martynenko.
