Alexander Shirinkin: EVC for dairy products requires coherence in the relationship between the processor and retail

This opinion is expressed by Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “Tulsky dairy plant” Alexander Shirinkin. According to him, market participants have to listen to each other and reduce the restrictions, reports The DairyNews.

– The introduction of obligatory system of EVC for dairy products requires coherence in the relationship between the processor and retail. We are talking about the uniformity of requirements in terms of barcodes, delivery deadlines and auto orders. One additional restriction is the cancellation of refunds. As for products with a short sales period cancellation of refunds will lead to additional loads. Imposition of several actions is the factors that must be considered in the horizon of the current year. It would be correct to build up interaction between dairy enterprises and retail chains to reduce restrictions, – commented the expert.

According to him, interaction with retail chains is an important complex, it is necessary that market players listen to each other and reduce restrictions; otherwise the arising contradictions will make complications.

As Alexander Shirinkin added, "Mercury" is a big concern: the system needs to be linked with the existing programs for the enterprise and the information system of the plant. Within the framework of the obligatory EVC system there is a great variety of tasks that need to be solved.

– The decision on introduction of the system is made therefore at the moment we are working in the direction of fitting into criteria and requirements which are presented by the state, – the expert concluded.

By the way, earlier it became known that the holding "EkoNiva" faced sabotage from the retail in the course of work with electronic veterinary certification. This was stated by the head of the company Stefan Duerr.

– We certainly need traceability and the “Mercury” system is a great relief for milk producers. We see an obstacle now from retail chains that say they will not work with us if we work in the “Mercury” system. We have been working with our dairy plants in EVC system since January 10.  "Mercury" is needed; it disciplines processors and retail chains. It is necessary, now from their party we feel a certain sabotage, – said Mr. Duerr.

We remind that the veterinary certification and product control systems will be discussed at the conference "Administrative barriers in dairy industry – real and mythical" at the XI Dairy Olympics in St. Petersburg. Registration for the event ends on May 20.
