122 new dairy complexes have been built in Udmurtia over the past four years
Only in 2019, the farms of the Republic will celebrate 28 new openings – this is how many new dairy farms will be put into operation, as a result, 6886 new cattle places were created for the year. In the last days of the year a joyful event will be celebrated in agricultural cooperative "Luch" and agricultural cooperative "Zarya" Mozhga district, they will launch the second phase of a robotic farm in agricultural cooperative “Rodina” in Grakhovo district.
For the construction and modernization of livestock facilities and equipping them with high-tech dairy equipment from the Republican budget there were allocated subsidies in the amount of 94.2 million rubles. So far, 26 agricultural enterprises have received them. For the next year, the amount of 150.6 million rubles is reserved; the announced plans of the producers are to build more than 30 new farms and more than 10 premises for young stock.
In four year period, which has passed since the launch of the regional program "1 million tons of milk", 122 new dairy complexes for more than 27.5 thousand cattle places have been put into operation in the Republic. Gross milk production in all categories of farms during this period in Udmurtia increased by 11.4%. And at the end of 2019 it is expected to grow at the level of 5%, the gross milk yield will be about 820 thousand tons.
"Our dairy industry still has good potential. Recently, we have been growing not by increasing the number of livestock, but by increasing productivity and intensification of production. Farms are beginning to work out their technologies. So, many have switched to year-round housing of cows inside the barns, there was introduced TMR. A cow like no one loves stability. Farmers also began to pay great attention to the replacement of their livestock and culling of low-yielding cows. Only since the beginning of this year they have purchased more than 3 thousand head of pedigree cattle", - commented Minister of agriculture and food of the Udmurt Republic Olga Abramova.
