Ukraine decreased cheese export by 12.8% in 2013
In December 2013 Rospotrebnadzor carried out an unscheduled inspection at Ostankino Dairy Plant (a Moscow-based company, one of the largest dairy plants in Russia). In the second half of the month the company’s activity was stopped for 30 days.
In 2013 Ukraine exported 59 thousand tons of cheese, what is 12.8% less compared to the results of 2012. In terms of value export increased by 1.07% to 362.3 mln dollars.
Ukraine increased import of cheese in 2013 approximately by 13% to 19.3 thousand tons. In terms of value import reached 111.17 mln dollars.
Export of butter from the country grew by 5.6 times to 3.86 thousand tons. In terms of value it reached 22.2 mln dollars, 7.7 times more compared to 2012 results.
Import of butter to Ukraine increased by 56% - to 14 thousand tons at a value of 67.3 mln dollars.
