In Russia started up a mechanism of dairy interventions. The state will be able to buy milk, cheese and butter from producers or sell them on the market to stabilize their value till the end of the year, smoothing out seasonal fluctuations.
Since this year the list of types of agricultural products was added by sterilized cow's milk, milk powder with fat content not exceeding 1.5%, sublimated milk with fat content not exceeding 1.5%, milk powder partly skimmed (from over 1.5 to less than 26% fat), whole milk powder (from 26 to 41.9 percent fat), sublimated partly skimmed milk (from more than 1.5 to less than 26 percent fat), sublimated whole milk (from 26 to 41.9 percent fat) and butter.

In addition, three types of cheese appeared in the list: semi-hard, hard and super hard.

We will remind that until now, dairy intervention concerned the sublimated whole milk powder and sublimated skimmed milk powder. They were planned to be introduced last year, but the deadline was shifted.

It is planned to buy about 10 thousand tons of dairy products, with a contribution of up to 1 billion rubles.

Dairy intervention is a tool, which is successfully applied in the grain market, said the experts, interviewed by "RG".

"In case of intervention, the farmers can save from 3 to 5 rubles per liter of milk"

"It will allow to regulate prices in this market and to assess more objectively its balance state," - explained the Director of Institute of agrarian marketing (IAM) Elena Tyurina. However, in her opinion, there are no prerequisites for its implementation.

This was earlier stated by the first Deputy Minister of agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Hatuov. In his opinion, Russia could do without intervention in the coming year, as dairy industry of the country has achieved a satisfactory rate of development. However, he said that the mechanism of dairy interventions is fully prepared, so that, if necessary, it will allow producers in the period of "big milk" to save 3-4, and in some regions 5 rubles per liter, which must remain with the farmers.

"Intervention will help to stabilize the prices of raw milk throughout the year, - said the head of the National Union of milk producers (Soyuzmoloko) Andrey Danilenko. - However, the inclusion of cheeses in the list is not actual, as it is advisable to purchase cheese and butter when the market is oversaturated, which is not observed today."
