– Increase of trade milk amounted to more than 20 million tons. It is not enough, but there is the annual growth of 3-4%, he said. Trade milk is the milk that is sold into turnover. At the same time, Volik said, Russia produces 10 million tons of unmarketable milk. This amount has reduced. The official also noted that this year the number of animals has decreased.

A positive trend is observed in the growth of prices for raw milk in some regions (up to 30 rubles per liter). "It's a good price. But prices are not balanced everywhere," said Volik. According to the expert, Russia is dependent on imports in the amount of 6-7 million tons. Basically it is milk, milk powder, cheese.

Andrey Danilenko, Chairman of the Board of Soyuzmoloko called to interpret correctly the facts on dairy products. Russia is not fulfilling the Doctrine of food safety in milk production.

– We must provide ourselves with the milk to 90 percent by the Doctrine. Today we provide ourselves with trade milk to 70 percent — said Danilenko. The expert is confident that this is not a very good indicator for a country that competes with almost any country in the world regarding the cost of milk production.

"Russia can produce raw milk cheaper than the US, the EU, South America". The only problem is the expensive loans that significantly increase the cost, said Danilenko.
