The Israeli market will become more liberal for Ukrainian agricultural products

Ukraine and Israel signed an agreement on a free trade area that will expand access for Ukrainian agricultural products. This was stated by Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimtseva, reports The DairyNews with reference to the press service of Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine.
"Today, Israel is consistently among the TOP 20 countries with which Ukraine has the largest share of trade in agricultural and food products. So, in 2017 Ukrainian exports of agricultural and food products to Israel amounted to $411.4 million. During the negotiations considerable attention was paid to the issue of liberalization of access to the market of Israel for as many agricultural and food products as possible, taking into account the level of protection of the Israeli market in the form of high import tariffs and requirements to products related to religious aspects," - said O. Trofimtseva. 

According to her, agricultural and food products occupy the largest share in the structure of exports from Ukraine to Israel. It is noted that in 2017, the export of Ukrainian agricultural and food products to Israel amounted to $411.4 million. The main exported goods were cereals $281.1 million, oilseeds - $47.8 million, oil - $9.1 million, sugar - $7.6 million, the remains and waste of the food industry - $29.1 million. At the same time, imports amounted to $9.4 million.
