Production of cheese products in Moscow region has increased by more than two thousand tons per year, said the Minister of agriculture and food of the region Andrey Razin.
"We occupy the second place in Russia by volume of production of cheese; last year we ranked the third. We produce more than 50 thousand tons of cheese now", said Razin.
He also announced the start of production of cheese products at the factories located on the territory of the cheese cluster in Dmitrov district. According to him, the first sets should start operating at the end of 2019. In total, five investors participate in the project. The Minister called the project very promising.
In October last year, the Moscow government announced the creation of a cluster of companies in the region for the production of cheese and processing of cheese products. The head of the region called it an important investment project. He stressed that the authorities will do everything necessary for its implementation.
Earlier, the head of the region thanked the farmers for their work. He noted that the economic growth of the region is mostly provided by agriculture.
