Sergey Kovalkov: EurAsEU countries are close to self-sufficiency in milk production
"Today, several EurAsEU countries are very close to the level of self-sufficiency in milk production. Of course, with the exception of elite expensive cheeses, which are sold at a price of 1200-1500 rubles in specialized stores. For the rest we meet our needs, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus as exporting markets, Kazakhstan and Russia as importing markets", said Sergey Kovalkov.
The expert also noted that from the point of view of agricultural exports to Asia, the most promising direction is the export of whey powder to China. In parallel with our country, this niche was occupied by Belarus and Ukraine.
Whey powder is fodder whey, which is very useful for Chinese livestock. Earlier, the main supplier for China was the United States, but later the supply was cut off.
