Savencia will build a plant for 12 thousand tons of cheese in Bashkiria

As noted by Minister of agriculture of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrahmanov, today the Republic produces about 14 thousand tons of cheese per year, an overwhelming amount accounts for “Belebeevsky dairy plant”.

According to the Minister, the region intends to develop cheese making and the main investor at the moment is “Belebeevsky dairy plant”.

It’s worth reminding that Savencia Fromage & Dairy completed the deal on acquisition of the “Belebeevsky dairy plant” in Russia on December 22, 2017 after the approval from the relevant departments.

As emphasized in the company, this deal is part of the strategy of Savencia Fromage & Dairy in the field of international growth. The presence of the Group in a country with a high level of cheese consumption will help to create a strong position for specialized brands in the Russian market, - commented in Savencia.

At the beginning of the year, investors announced plans to develop the production of gourmet cheeses on the basis of “Belebeevsky dairy plant”. In January 2018, the source of The DairyNews on the dairy market of Bashkiria reported that the largest milk processor in the region - “Belebeevsky dairy plant”- significantly reduced the purchase of raw milk since the autumn of last year. It is estimated as 170 tons per day.

The analysts note that this situation was most likely related to the plans of investors for the modernization and development of production and the failure was temporary.

It’s worth reminding that the total volume of milk processed by “Belebeevsky dairy plant” amounted to 146678 tons in 2016.

The company's turnover for 2016 exceeded 5 billion rubles. The plant occupies a market share of 3.89% in terms of hard and semi - hard cheeses throughout Russia. At the same time, 20% of the products are sold in Bashkiria. The volume of cheese produced by the plant in 2016 amounted to 12654 tons. More than 1000 tons of cheese was produced in 2016on a monthly basis. The throughput capacity of the cheese-making line of the plant is 550 tons of milk per day.

Revenue from sales in 2017 according to RDRC was 5 341 983 000 rubles, net profit - 710 630 000 rubles.

According to the results of the Ist and IInd quarters of 2018, Savencia reported that the company's results have increased significantly thanks to Russian and South Korean daughter companies.

The development of processing in the region goes in parallel with the development of the raw material base - recently the largest industrial producer of milk in Russia — agricultural holding "EkoNiva" of Stefan Duerr said that he intends to build three dairy complexes in Bashkiria for 11.6 thousand cows. Investments in the project are estimated at 7.6 billion rubles. Milk will be supplied to “Belebeevsky dairy plant”.
