Russia is in search for ways of milk production increase
Russian milk production decrease resulted in national average consumer prices rise by 10%. Big dairy enterprises can change the situation to the better. Subsidizing of interest rates for them is one of the main possible supportive measures, believes Ilya Shestakov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
According to Andrey Danilenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Dairy Producers Union, raw milk purchase prices cut by 10% in 2012 is the main reason for current milk production decrease. Certain impact also had increased producers’ expenditures and arrears in subsidies payment. As a result import from Europe and Belarus increased together with cases of products adulteration. However there are regions with increasing production, for example the Republic of Udmurtia, other regions must adopt their practices, suggested A.Danilenko.
