One of the largest producers of raw milk in the country, the company "Rusmolko" (a joint venture with OlamInternational), has started implementation of the project for the expansion of existing livestock farms, reports The DairyNews with a link to the company website.
The project worth 500 million rubles provides the creation of 1,200 stalls on the farms of the company in Arshinovka village (4600 heads) and in Potodeevo village (3600 heads). The construction completion and commissioning is scheduled for summer 2017. As a result of implementation of the project milk production at the complexes will increase by 30 tons per day.

Within the framework of the project there will be built two new buildings for animals.

The barn for 700 stalls will be built on the territory of the existing complex for 4600 heads in Arshinovka village of Nizhniy Lomov district. Dry cows and pregnant heifers will be kept in the new barn.

The second barn for 500 stalls will be built in Potodeevo village of Nizhniy Lomov district on the territory of the existing complex for 3600 heads. Dry animals will be kept there.

The herd for new facilities will be imported from abroad. The first batch of 600 animals has already arrived from Hungary and Germany, the second batch from the Netherlands is already selected and will arrive in the second half of March.

When filling new facilities "Rusmolco" has refused from the common practice of importation of pregnant animals and proposed a new approach. The company's specialists personally selected a batch of heifers ready for insemination on the foreign farms and inseminate them artificially with the use of sexed semen.

The innovation became possible due to the presence of "Rusmolco" private centre on directed rearing of livestock, located in the Kuznetsk district of Penza region. On the farm, counted for 5200 heads, work experienced professionals, who possess the most modern technology in the field of livestock reproduction.

Changing conventional technology will allow "Rusmolco" to increase heifer crop percentage from 45 to 80% and more.
