Rosstat: consumer prices for milk and dairy products increased by 8.7% during the year

The growth of prices for dairy products in October amounted to 1.7% compared to the September of the current year. The growth of prices for butter in October reached 4.2% in comparison with September.

According to Rosstat, in October, after the reduction of prices for fruits and vegetables that has lasted since March this year, there has been a marked increase in prices for this group of foods. Thus, the price for fresh tomatoes and cucumbers has increased by 42.3% and 41.2% respectively, for oranges – by 19.1%, for garlic – by 3.4%. However, lemons became cheaper by 18.1%, fresh cabbage - by 7.7%, apples, beets, onions, carrots, pears, potatoes - by 2.6-5.5%.

In the group of dairy products prices for milk went up by 2.1%, for sour cream, cottage cheese, glazed with chocolate, dairy products, cottage cheese and yogurt – by 1.3% to 1.8%.

Among other kinds of food products cheeses became more expensive by 1.7%, boneless pork, poultry, cut fish of salmon varieties, canned fruit and jam – by 0.9-1.4%.

At the same time prices for observed cereals and legumes have decreased by 2.4%, for fish, live and cooled, - by 1.9%, for lamb, frozen cut fish (except salmon breeds), flour, beer of foreign brands – by 0,1-0,3%.

In General, in October the consumer price index amounted to 100.4%, since the beginning of the year - 104,5% (in October 2015 - 100,7%, since the beginning of the year - 111,2%).
