Rosselkhoznadzor banned cheese export from Holland
Russian Rosselkhoznadzor found numerous violations in Dutch dairy enterprises performance wherefore imposed temporary ban on dairy imports from Netherlands starting from 19 December. Judging by the information, published on Rosselkhoznadzor’s web-site, the following plants were banned: 5 plants of FrieslandCampina Cheese, two plants of Bel Leerdammer and a plant of DOC Kaas – i.e. enterprises exporting around 50% of Dutch cheese to Russia.
According to Rosselkhoznadzors’s official statement, among violations are: absence of government control of raw milk producers, absence of mechanism dealing with farmers who violate national and EU legislation. On the average Dutch authorized bodies check only 0.3% of all dairy farms in the country annually. There were also detected several facts of doubtful information insertion into ready cheese products veterinary certificates.
