Up to 45% of samples of meat products in outlets of the Crimea and 22.5% of samples of dairy products in 2016, revealed counterfeit, said in Simferopol, the Deputy Head of the regional office of Rosselkhoznadzor Yuri Epanov.
"We will continue to monitor counterfeit in the Crimea. In 2016, we selected more than 260 samples. The situation is not very good: 22.5% of counterfeits was detected in 202 samples of dairy products in the Crimea, as for meat products – up to 45% of counterfeit products (of the total number of samples)," said Epanov.

Quality control of dairy products was carried out in kindergartens and school canteens in the Crimea and Sevastopol, he said. Two suppliers after identifying non-compliant to the standards products supplied to kindergartens, were immediately replaced, said the Deputy Minister.

According to the Director of the Federal Center for animal health Dmitry Lozovoy, the named share of counterfeit product may not correspond to the real and be slightly higher because of the inability to control the flow of goods. The products of low and high price category are mainly selected for samples.

"In the low price segment to stay – one should make it cheaper and in high price segment – it is profitable to falsify, because it is possible to get large profits with cheap raw materials", — told Lozovoy.

As it was explained by the Head of Department for supervision in the sphere of veterinary of the Crimean department of Rosselkhoznadzor Svetlana Shambazova, falsification of products means nonconformity to the Standards and the specified recipe and substitution of ingredients. Counterfeit products are found in imported sausage products from mainland Russia and at a couple of Crimean producers. Shambazova reported that the results of monitoring will be published on the website of the department.
