The average check of Russian residents for one visit to the store decreased by 1.7% in May compared to April and amounted to 521 rubles, according to the results of a study conducted by the holding "Romir". In April, the holding company recorded a decrease in the average check by 1.7%.
"For the second month in a row, the average check is decreasing. At the end of May, the indicator stopped at 521 rubles, having lost 9 rubles or 1.7% compared to April. Taking into account the inflation of 0.4 % in May, the average check decreased by more than 2%", the report said.

Compared to May last year, the average check increased by 1.8%, but did not outstrip inflation, which increased by 2.4% during this period.

"The leader in the reduction of the check in May was the Central district, where it lost 6.1% to the April value. The check in the Urals decreased quite significantly - by 3.6%", - analysts say. According to "Romir", in Moscow the average check for the month decreased by 4.7% to 690 rubles.

"The check in the North-West More had more modest losses - (-1.6%) of the country and in the Far East (-1.5%). The average check in the Volga region had very little loss compared to April - 0.5%. The growth of the average check was recorded only in two districts – in the South of the country (+2.1%) and in Siberia (+1.4%)", — says the statement of "Romir".
