By the end of 2020 in Moscow region it is planned to produce one million tons of milk. This was stated by Minister of agriculture and food of Moscow region Andrey Razin at the opening of the first phase of the joint dairy complex together with representatives of Vietnam near Volokolamsk on January 31, reports The DairyNews with reference to the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of Moscow region.
"This is the first farm for 1100 head. There will be five more farms like that. We are planning to build approximately 15 such barns on the territory of Moscow region till 2020. This is the first object that has already received animals. We are moving toward our goal of one million tons. Such large complexes in combination with our existing enterprises must ensure achievement of this large and ambitious goal. From the point of view of the market we know of course that our capacity for processing is 1.5 million tons, so our goal of one million is absolutely tangible," said Andrey Razin.

The Minister also stressed that in 2017 the region was able to achieve the target of 644 thousand tons of milk. And this year, according to the Minister, it is planned to increase production up to 750 thousand tons.

Earlier Andrey Razin noted that by the results of 2017 agricultural enterprises in Moscow region for the first time received 6 735 kg of milk per average cow, which is 264 kg more than in 2016.
