Putin announced reducing the chances for Western companies to return to the Russian market
"The longer this continues the less chances to return to Russian market have those who left our market", said Putin at the Valdai discussion club in Sochi on Thursday.
"We still do not see that something will be canceled, so sleep well", - he said, referring to the farmer - cheese maker Oleg Sirota.
"If you provide quality, and, apparently, you already provide quality, if you are going to enter the foreign market, then the quality you have corresponds to the quality of your competitors, but your production costs, logistics will always be cheaper, so it will be difficult to compete with you, I think, it is almost impossible. Moreover, if you build relationships with trade networks, with shops, they have very little chances", said the head of state.
Nevertheless, according to him, Russian manufacturers should be ready to opening the market for manufacturers from Europe. "We must be ready to competition. It is impossible to constantly proceed from the fact that we will clamp, grab and not let go, create exclusive conditions in the domestic market, because if we do it, our quality will fall in the end, this applies not only to cheeses, this applies to the entire range of agricultural products and not only", - Putin said.
"We need to create natural competition in the market, but at least today we need to create competition between domestic producers. We will strive for this, but the volume of support for agriculture will not decrease", - said the President of the Russian Federation.
