Aleksandr Tkachyov was appointed to the position of Russian Minister of Agriculture by President’s ordinance on April 22.
The new minister specified rise in profitability as the main development priority of the agricultural sector of Russia. It is necessary to deal with competition and to separate milk products from milk containing ones, he specified talking about the dairy industry.
New Ministry of Agriculture’s trend is setting the tough economic basis for agricultural development in the country.
“It is necessary to consider any of our activity area in terms of profitability. Unprofitable? Then it’s necessary to make it profitable”, - said the new minister. He added that the ministry’s task is to work transparently and quickly, to improve and force mechanisms and forms of government support of the agribusiness.
