Moscow region takes the second place in Russia on production of cheese in 2017

According to the Minister of agriculture and food of Moscow region Andrey Razin Moscow region took the second place in the production of cheese in Russia for the first 11 months of 2017, reports The DairyNews with reference to information of the Regional News Agency of Moscow region (RIAMO).
"The biggest manufacture of cheese and cheese products in January – November 2017 in the Russian Federation is marked in Altai region – 55.4 thousand tons (more than 13% of the total cheese production in the country); in Moscow region – 45.7 thousand tons (about 11%); Bryansk region – 31.7 thousand tons (about 7.5%)," - said Razin. 

Also, according to the official, in 2017 for the production of milk in agricultural organizations and peasant farm holdings (KFH) Moscow region takes the sixth place in the Russian Federation (Tatarstan, Krasnodar, Bashkiria, Udmurtia, Altai, Moscow region), in Central Federal district - the first place.
According to Razin, there are more than 40 enterprises (including peasant farm holdings) involved in the production of cheese in Moscow region.

The DairyNews reminds: according to official data, by the results of the first 11 months of 2017 domestic cheesemakers produced more than 603 thousand tons of cheese and cheese products, which is 8.5% more than in the same period last year (556 thousand tons). Cheese out of them amounts to 423.6 thousand tons, which is 5.2% more than in the corresponding period of 2016.
