More than 40% of Russians during the last six months began to save more on food

41% of Russians began to save on food more than before during the last six months, while 46% of respondents have not changed the consumer strategy, according to a survey by the Fund “Public opinion”.
Besides, 9% of study participants admitted that they do not save on products, and 2% began to save less during the last six months.

During the last three months 42% of Russians did not change the way of buying food. One third (33%) reported that within three months they began to buy products of cheaper brands, a quarter (24%) began to buy less products, 22% refused to buy certain goods, and 15% began to go shopping for food less often.

Only 2% of respondents said that during the last three months they began to go shopping for food more often, another 2% have started to buy products that they did not buy earlier, 1% said that now they buy more or at expensive shops.

Most of all Russians are saving on meat and poultry (24%), cheese and sausages (20%), fish and seafood (18%), and fruits (14%).
