"We created 35 mobile groups, 14 of them are on the border with Belarus, 21 - with Kazakhstan. This year they stopped 102 thousand trucks, checked out 2.7 million tons [of banned goods], out of which 21 thousand tons were returned, 5.8 thousand tons were destroyed and 2.3 thousand tons were detained", - said the interviewee of the edition.
The head of the FCS also said that he supports the discussed in the government lowering the threshold for duty-free import of goods for online purchases up to €20. "The whole Europe followed this way, in Finland they are going to abolish the threshold since 2018, now it is also €20," - said Bulavin. The issue, he said, was actively discussed last year and maybe the decision will be made in 2018. "But this is a question to government, in my personal opinion, we need to restrain the flow of goods," - said the head of the FCS.
Bulavin also said that the FCS moves the Centers of electronic Declaration from private areas and temporary storage facilities to state sites. According to him, this will reduce the influence of the owners of such private areas on customs officers.
"This is a radical reform of customs administration. Our proposals were approved by the President and the government. We will have fulfilled everything by 2021. Only at first glance it seems to be very simple," concluded Bulavin.
