A unique analytical product - Milk Deficiency Map 2015 was presented by the Center for the Study of Dairy Market of The DairyNews (CSDM). The Center specialists used a new calculation formula of regions’ milk self-sufficiency: instead of average index of annual milk consumption per capita a calculated for each RF constituent territory index was taken.

Russian dairy market is presented on the map by regions of different color depending on the level of milk shortage/proficit. CSDM uses official data on milk production in agricultural enterprises and peasant (private) farms and ignores personal subsidiary and other individual households of citizens. This approach of data selection allows to give a more precise information on commercial milk production, i.e. milk which is supplied to the market, explain the CSDM experts.
