This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov following talks with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Lavrov noted that the countries "are moving forward towards full normalization of relations." "Now there are no political obstacles for the expansion of mutual trade. We are talking only about compliance with phytosanitary requirements," he said.
"We, in our turn, asked Turkish counterparts to inspect our enterprises, which produce meat and dairy products, in the expectation that these products will be supplied to the Turkish market in substantial amounts," — said Lavrov.
According to the Minister, restrictions have already been removed from a significant part of agricultural products. Restrictions on other products of this group will be removed as soon as they have carried out inspections, phytosanitary confirming the purity of the enterprises.
