The strategy of import substitution of Bryansk region includes more than 20 promising projects.
Their implementation will allow increasing the production capacity of domestic products, reports The DairyNews with a link to the website of the regional government.

The total cost of the investment projects being implemented and scheduled for implementation in the framework of import substitution in 2016-2020, is estimated at 40 billion rubles. In addition, the region will create about a thousand new working places, and the amount of additional tax revenues to the regional budget will exceed one billion rubles a year.

As an example Vice-Governor of Bryansk region Alexander Rezunov brought the efficiency of the organization of holding structures.

- We believe projects of agricultural holding "Okhotno" to be the best investment practices in the region. Around the enterprise for the production of raw materials there is a network of units that are engaged in crop production, grow vegetables in open soil, produce fodder, and develop dairy farming and industrial pork production, carry out deep processing of pork and produce meat products.

The "meat" agricultural projects of the Bryansk region have already partially substituted imports of meat products to Russia. Beef of Bryansk meat company of agro-industrial holding "Miratorg" is entering world markets.

Meat production of Bryansk region 4 times exceeds its own needs, — said Alexander Rezunov.

The main directions of import substitution in the region are dairy farming and processing of agricultural products.

In Bryansk region there are more than 260 farms producing milk. This year they provide a five per cent production growth, including growth in milk production — 12%.

Vice-Governor stressed that improvement of values is connected to the government's support measures for reconstruction and modernization of dairy farms, equipping them with modern equipment.

In Bryansk region four major "dairy" projects on construction of dairy farms are being implemented. Two of them are already in operation. The number of animals in the projects is 4200 heads and the capacity is 42 thousand tons of milk a year.

In the region they created facilities for milk processing up to 500 thousand tons per year.

The largest producer of cheese in the region — "Starodubsky Cheese" is one of the leading cheese producing enterprises of Russia. It processes up to 190 thousand tons of milk per year. But the main thing — Starodubsky cheese-makers began to substitute the imported premium aged hard cheeses. Other Bryansk enterprises also started the production of domestic cheese instead of imported, and it is well known to consumers outside Bryansk region.

As Alexander Rezunov noted, this year Bryansk region has achieved the highest rates in the harvest. Thus, they collected more than 920 thousand tons of grain and beans, the yield of corn amounted to more than 600 thousand tons. Potato production is a million 380 thousand tons, vegetables — 150 tons. Thus, the level of 2015 is significantly exceeded.

It is noteworthy that 12% of the relative weight of potatoes produced in Russia is produced in Bryansk region.

The regional government provides grain producers with financial support. In the current year 7 grain-drying complexes were built, 25% of costs were subsidized from the regional budget. They used domestic grain drying equipment manufactured in Bryansk region.

The implementation of two investment projects on construction of grain drying complex, grain storage and wholesale and logistics center is going on. Next year it is planned to introduce another 10 grain drying facilities.

An important stage in the development of grain processing is the recent commissioning of the feed mill JSC "Chicken Kingdom-Bryansk" with the capacity of 280 thousand tons per year having the grain storage for 56 thousand tons.
